TUMS and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) Sign a collaboration MoU

 

As part of a visit to Malaysia, TUMS officials signed a memorandum of understanding with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), officiating their intent for academic and research collaborations.

 

 

 

On Tuesday, June 14, 2016, as part of their official visit to Malaysia, the TUMS delegate visited Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

 

Present at this meeting were UNIMAS Vice-Vhancellor Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Kadim Suaidi and TUMS Director of International Affairs and Development, Dr. Enayat A. Shabani, as well as other officials from both universities. 

 

At the end of this meeting, which took place in UNIMAS Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, TUMS and UNIMAS signed a memorandum of understanding regarding future scientific, academic and research exchanges and collaborations. This MoU, as the result of different meetings between the two parties, marks a new chapter in the activities of TUMS's international cooperation.

 

UNIMAS, which commenced its activities in 1992, is located in Borneo, in the state of Sarawak in Malaysia. It is Malaysia's eighth university and, with 9 faculties, 9 research centers and 5 research institutes, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak offers 42 undergradaute and 39 post-graduate programs. 

 

In a post-meeting statement, UNIMAS expressed hope for the future of this agreement between the two universities, saying, “The MoU is hoped to help these two think tanks foster better collaboration towards improving academic and scholarly interactions between and among them, as well as promoting and intensifying the friendship and also the mutual understanding between the people of these two countries, in general; and the two institutions, in particular.”
