Psychiatry
In previous few decades there had been enormous changes in medical sciences including Psychiatry. New findings in pcychoneuroendocrinology, psychoneuroimmunology, psychiatric Genetics and biological rhythm have provided new concepts in etiology and treatment of psychiatric disorders. To train competent specialists in this field a new approach based on all the above mentioned facts should have been followed,so with getting help from other countries curricula and expert opinions and academic professors help this curriculum is provided.
Definition:
Psychiatry is clinical specialty in which the graduates are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care of patients suffering from psychiatric disorders and behavioral problems and also the graduates provide the community with their knowledge and skills in the areas of education, research and health care.
Program Duration
The Psychiatry program lasts at least 4 years.
Who Can Attend?
Individuals holding an M.D. or M.B.B.S. degree.
Admission Requirements

Application Deadline
Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.
However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31, and the deadline for the February intake is October 31.
