The meeting on the comparative study of National Institutional Accreditation Indicators and Accreditation Services for Colleges(ASIC)’ Institutional Accreditation Indicators
The Secretariat of International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Network of Tehran University of Medical Sciences planned to conduct a comparative study of national institutional accreditation indicators and ASIC accreditation indicators.

In the meeting that was held on March 1st 2016 with the presence of Dr. Mirzazadeh the director of Educational Development Center, Dr. Gandomkar the evaluation section officer, Ms. Tania Azadi and Mahboobeh Davoodifar the accreditation officers of the Secretariat of International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Network, the possibility and the procedure of conducting a comparative study of national institutional accreditation indicators announced by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran and the accreditation indicators announced by ASIC were discussed.

In this meeting, the national and international accreditation indicators were categorized in tables beforehand and were presented by the officers of the secretariat. Dr. Mirzazadeh reviewed and commented on the procedure and emphasized on the existence of the tables which show the ASIC indicators which do not have an equivalent indicator.

Continuing the meeting, it was decided that only the main ASIC indicators should be taken into consideration and the sub-indicators which are the supporting documents that should be prepared to fulfill an indicator are not considered indicators and cannot be an equivalent of the national institutional indicators.

In the end, it was said that the data collection of self-assessment process will be done according to the results of this study. Furthermore, a list of the national and international indicators which do not have an equivalent indicator will be given to ASIC accreditation body and the ministry of health and medical education

respectively to be taken into consideration to be added to their list of indicators.
