Holding a Meeting on “documentation in Accreditation using web based tools” in the office of Vice Chancellor for Management development and Resources of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU)
A Meeting on “documentation in Accreditation using web based tools” was held with the presence of experts of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) at the office of Vice Chancellor for Management Development and Resources of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU).

According to the report of office International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), this meeting was held on September 14th in the auditorium of Vice Chancellor for Management Development and Resources of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU) with the presence of Dr. Kazemi, the Advisor to Chancellor in Informatics and a member of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Farajzadeh the senior accreditation officer of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences;  Ali Sayyadi the senior officer; Tania Azadi and Zohreh Sadeghi the officers of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking of TUMS. 

 

In the beginning, Dr. Kazemi talked about the actions that have taken place recently on accreditation process in SBMU. He said the process of accreditation started in the winter of 2015 after the notification of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education along with other medical universities in the country. He said that the self-assessment process in accreditation, was first manually and then to create an integration of processes and also to meet the goals of knowledge management electronically, run in the form of a web-based system which exclusively designed and implemented by the university.

 

Then, Dr. Kazemi introduced “Accreditation Standards Documentation System of SBMU” and called that as an innovative system which derived truly from unique ideas in the field of accreditation and quality assurance at this University. He pointed to tree structure and utilizing new technologies in the design of the database of the system which made it fully applicable. He also pointed out that the system can be generalized to other universities which are volunteer in the accreditation.

 

In addition, in this meeting, Ms. Azadi described the process of self-assessment, self-assessment forms and how to engage TUMS in completing the self-assessment forms and added that self-assessment forms are based on ASIC indicators.

 

In the following, the Officers of TUMS, expressed their experiences of implementing the international accreditation and emphasized the need for this system for the volunteer universities. It is necessary to mention that after each presentation, the questions already raised by them were responded.
