TUMS Delegation Attending Macquarie University’s Workshop on “Cotutelle and Joint PhD Program Management”
TUMS Delegation attended a three-day workshop on “Cotutelle and Joint PhD Program Management” in Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia and paid a visit to different schools and facilities of Macquarie University.
Dr. Gholamreza Hassanzadeh, the Vice-dean of Educational Affairs of International Campus and Ms. Mahboobeh Davoodifar, the International Relations’ Officer attended a three-day workshop on “Cotutelle and Joint PhD Program Management” in Macquarie University on January 22nd-25th, 2018.
In this workshop the representatives of more than 30 Macquarie’s Potential Partner Universities across the globe presented their universities and talked about the challenges they are facing in Cotutelle and Joint PhD Programs. The workshop hours included discussion panels and lectures given by Deputy Vice-chancellor for Research of Macquarie University, Professor Sakkie Pretorius, Professor Nick Mansfield, Dean of Higher Degree Research and Dr. Ren Yi, the Director of International Research Training.
The third day of the workshop included individual meetings and visits to different schools and facilities of Macquarie University based on the workshop participants request for the purpose of matchmaking. TUMS delegation had the chance to visit the Macquarie Hospital and Macquarie facilities such as the electrophysiology’s tools room, Confocal Microscopes room and the tools for the neurodegenerative research and also met Mr. Matthew Monkhouse, the director of Global Engagement and Business Development.
The Macquarie workshop ended with the final remarks of Dr. Ren Yi and the farewell barbeque in the Macquarie staff café.
