Ambassador of Tajikistan at TUMS

Ambassador of Tajikistan in Iran met with TUMS Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs with the aim of advancing scientific and academic cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan.

 

At this meeting which was held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, Dr. Kordi, TUMS Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs initiated the meeting by explaining about the history of the university, stating that: ”TUMS is the oldest university in Iran which owns 11 schools, 16 hospitals and around 100 research centers.”  He also presented several statistical facts about the number of students and faculty members of the university.

 

TUMS Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs added that: “TUMS has developed its international activities vastly and is keen on building collaborations with universities aboard. TUMS has planned to establish branches in Iraq, Hungary and Poland, and is also interested to establish a branch in Tajikistan if the grounds exist.”

 

 

Nemat Allah Emam Zadeh, Ambassador of Tajikistan, stated that: “Tajikistan is also determined to develop its relations with TUMS. Although the second medical university was established in Tajikistan, educating skilled experts is a requirement for our country.” He also added that the relations between Iran and Tajikistan have been increasing. He emphasized on operationalization of MoUs between the two countries.

 

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Kordi, TUMS Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs concluded that TUMS will elaborate on the scientific and academic fields of collaboration in a correspondence with Tajikistan and the activities focusing on MoUs will be followed by Iran’s Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education.
