Delegation of University of Malaya At TUMS
Prof. Saad Mekhilef Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies, and Professor Mahmoud Moghavvemi from the Faculty of Engineering paid a landmark visit to Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering department and the Institute for Advanced Medical Technologies.

Prof. Saad Mekhilef, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies of University of Malaya, and his colleagues met with Dr. Kheradmand, Vice Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs on 24thAug, 2013. 

 

Dr. Hadian and Dr. Shiran welcomed the delegation and gave a brief history of TUMS as a comprehensive university. They introduced the research and educational potentials of the university to the delegation. They emphasized that TUMS is seeking for practical agreements on joint research programs, exchange of staff and postgraduate students.

 

Prof. Saad Mekhilef, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate studies, presents University of Malaya and current scientific activities at the university. He notified that UM is the top University in Malaya, 24th in Asia, and have collaborations with many outstanding universities such as Liverpool, Sydney, University of Tehran and Amirkabir.

 

 

Dr. Ahmadian, head of the Department of Medical physics, made UM delegation familiar with the activities carrying out in the department in general and the Institute for Advanced Medical Technologies in particular. He added that the department is now collaborating with national and international universities such as Montreal Neurological Institute, University of Pennsylvania and is willing to make similar commitment with UM. Then both parties were engaged in more specific talks on interested subjects such as Nano Imager, SPECT Imaging System, Intelligent Surgical System, and Robatic Surgery, which may lead to a joint PhD student program in Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering.

 

Dr. Kheradmand, Vice Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs, expressed his willingness to establish and expand scientific and cultural cooperation with University of Malaya.
