TUMS Research Centers have been host to the officials of University of Autónoma del Estado of Mexico from Saturday, 24 January 2015.
The Mexican group comprised of Dr. Julio B. Robles Navarro, Director of the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Alfredo Jaramillo Garcia, Coordinator of Research and Advanced Studies, Dr. Patricia Bustamante Montes, Director of the School of Medicine, Dr. Guadalupe Santamaria Gonzalez, Director of the school of chemistry, María Del Rosario Pérez Bernal, Vice Chancellor of Research and Higher Education and Yolanda E. Ballesteros Sentíes, Director of Secretary of International Cooperation of UAEM, met some TUMS officials.
On 25 January 2015, the group visited faculty members of Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Dr.Habibi, International Liaison of the institute presented a brief of the institute activities after a warm welcoming. The institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism is known as the best research institute in endocrinology and metabolism and contributes with WHO in different fields such as research, education and Osteoporosis management, she said. Some of the programs presented in the institute hold an international validity, she also added. She also expressed the institute’s willingness toward implementing joint research projects and sabbatical leave with UAEM and said the institute welcomes holding any short courses and student exchange programs. At the end, she pointed out the many awards that the institute achieved in recent years and declared willingness toward conducting research in any scientific field.
The Mexican team also participated in a joint session with Dr.Ghavamzade, Director of the institute and visited the research center of Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation. Director of the center also said that this center has been host to the patients from all over Iran and 11 other countries and also educates international students.
In addition to expressing their willingness to collaborate with the institute, UAEM board invited the center staff to perform clinical researches in UAEM center. They also declared their tendency toward preparing an MoU draft between TUMS and UAEM and said they are wishing to enhance relations between the two Universities to develop collaboration in the area of Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
The board also visited Tehran Heart Center (THC). Dr. Hajighasemi, Head of the Center introduced THC and some of the activities of this hospital such as foreign resident admission. Also, Dr. Abbasi a faculty member of the center presented a brief of the research performances of the hospital and told about the center relationship with international authentic centers. The English essays published by this center can be applied by foreign universities, he said.
Finally the Mexican board proposed their request on UAEM residents and post graduates attendance in Tehran Heart Center for short course programs.
