According to the recent new version of the Webometrics (Ranking Web of Institutions) report, Tehran University of Medical Sciences improves its world rank from 422^nd to 385^th  and is placed in 2^nd position within the country, 8^th in Region, and 71^st in Asia.

In this report, 6 Hospitals and Research Centers of TUMS are presented in Hospital web ranking with country ranks between 5^th and 24^th, including: Tehran Heart Center, Digestive Disease Research Center of Shariati Hospital, Farabi Hospital, Shariati Hospital, Center for Research & Training in Skin Diseases & Leprosy, and Hematology Oncology and BMT Research Center. Tehran Heart Center with the country rank of 5th, has gained the best position among these Hospitals and Research Centers.

Iran’s five top universities in this International ranking system are: University of Tehran, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tarbiat Modares University, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, and Isfahan University of Technology respectively.

The "Ranking Web of World Universities" is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain which was officially launched in 2008, and it is updated every 6 months (data collected in January and July).
