In the meeting that was held on September 11^th, 2018 in the Armenian Embassy in Tehran, His Excellency Mr. Artashes Toumanian, the Armenian Ambassador to Tehran met Dr. Mohammad Hossein Nekoofar, the director of International Relations of Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and Dr. Apri Manookian, a faculty member of the TUMS School of Nursing and Midwifery to discuss possible academic collaboration between TUMS and Yerevan State Medical University which is the most prestigious Medical University in Armenia.

In addition to pointing out to the historical backgrounds and the world ranking of the two universities, the possible grounds for collaboration were identified. In the end, His Excellency Ambassador expressed his interest in expanding academic collaborations between the two universities and announced that the Armenian Embassy will try to pave the way for the Yerevan Medical State University officials to visit TUMS and its potentials for collaboration.
