TUMS Vice-chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs visited Azarbaijan Medical University Vice-rector for Academic Affairs /Investigatingng the Possibility of Teaching and Research Collaboration
Dr. Ramin Kordi, TUMS Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs and Dr. Baylarov, Azarbaijan Medical University Vice-rector for Academic Affairs visited each other at TUMS for exploring possibilities for mutual educational and research collaborations

 

According to department of Public Relations, in this meeting which was hosted by TUMS Headquarters on Monday March 4th Dr. Harirchi, Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Education, Dr. Namazi, Head of Desk for International Cooperation of TUMS with Russia and the Caucasus, Dr. Seyf, TUMS academic staff, Dr. Isayev Azaerbaijan Dean for International students, Dr. Davoodov, Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Azerbaijan Medical University were present.

 

At the beginning of this meeting, Dr Kordi, Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs emphasized on TUMS readiness to provide Azerbaijani academic members and post Graduate students with short-term and long term courses including sub specialties and fellowships with the priority of two fields namely Pharmacy and Public Health. The University Vice-Chancellor also mentioned some relevant points about types of degree which is supposed to allocated for that project.

Dr. Baylarov, welcomed Dr. Kordi’s suggestions and indicated that one third of graduated Iranian students from involved in some issues related to validity of their certificates in Iran after their graduation. He asked for strengthening of joint educational cooperation and emphasized the importance of homogenizing two universities educational programs.

 

Dr Harirchi, Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Education also explained about Iran’s Ministry of Health methodology for assessing the certificates of Iranians who graduate from universities outside the country.

 

Dr. Namazi, Head of Desk for International Cooperation of TUMS with Russia and the Caucasus and Dr. Seyf, TUMS academic member also gave impressive suggestions for the coming collaborations between two sides. TUMS Vice Chancellor also expressed his willingness to visit Azerbaijan Medical University with TUMS delegation. To this end he invited the deans of Azarbaijan School of Pharmacy and School of Public Health to visit TUMS related schools.

 

Furthermore, the Azarbaijani delegation visited TUMS School of Dentistry, school of Pharmacy, Children’s Medical Center and made familiar with their research and educational facilities through their visit on Sunday, March 2nd. Dr. Namazi, International Collaboration accompanied them during this visit.
