INTRODuCTION: Rape has become a serious problem in all cultures and societies. Post-traumatic stress disorder
(PTSD) is one of the serious consequences of rape. The prevalence of PTSD following rape is quite different in
communities.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to determine the rate of PTSD in rape complainants women referred
to the legal Medicine Organization in Tehran in 2013.
MATERIAl AND METHODS: This is a cross-sectional study. The samples were 130 rape complainant women referred
to the legal Medicine Organization in Tehran. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Symptoms Scale questionnaire
(PSS_I) was used for identifying PTSD in the samples. The samples were wanted to complete PTSD_I, six
weeks after date of the rape.
RESulTS: The mean age of the samples was 22.5+_2.51 years, the majority of them (49.75%) were married,
36.7% were student of university or high school, and 45.4% had diploma of high school. Finally 80 women
(61.6%) of the samples had PTSD.
CONCluSIONS: In this study, we found a high prevalence of PTSD among rape complainants women referred
to the legal Medicine Organization in Tehran in 2013. It is suggested that the risk factors associated with PTSD

The Congress Reporting Form
How many volunteers were present at the Congress? : About 200
Delegates from which countries presented in the congress? : Greece - UK - Iran - USA - Italy - Turkey - Australia - Germany - Japan - China
Were the delegates of any other organizations present in the congress? : Yes
If yes, please write the names of the organizations in the box : HELLENIC SOCIETY OF PEDIATRIC AND ADOLESCENT GYNECOLOGY
What were the responses to your talking points? Were specific questions or concerns raised? : My presentation was e-poster. The responses were good. There was a question about the rate of Post Tromatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) in Tehran. I explain about PTSD in womens and the risk factors of it in Tehran.
If you met staff members, please list their full names & positions. : There were 6 person from Greece that I met. Their positin were midwifery teachers of Greece midwifery school and also 2 midwifery student of Greece.
Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress : There was a lecture about the increased rate of cesarean section in the word. It suggest that we can plan a scientific congress about c/s in Iran and invite them to attend and have a discussion about it. They said that the doctors and other staff members do not know doing normal birthing. This is the main reason for increasing c/s. They afraid from normal delivery so c/s is safe for them!
Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : The time for getting visa from the embasy is important. It is necessary that to take time from the embasey as soon as posible.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : In my opinion, the congress of our country in Iran is more scientific than abroud ones. But comunication with forien staff members and meet with the rules in other countries is very important to understand. For example the kind of delivery and the relief of labor pain in their country, in my field of study. Unfortunately the rate of s/c was high in Greece too. I think our country's obstetrics and midwifery are coming toward greater usage of technology. they are becoming far from the natural process.
