Information of Congress
Title of the Congress : The 36th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC’14)
Title of your Abstract : A Novel Approach for Baseline Correction in 1H-MRS Signals Based on Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition
country : USA
From : Wednesday, August 27, 2014
To : Saturday, August 30, 2014
Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) is a non-invasive technique for diagnosis some deceases by measuring biochemical changes in the human tissue. One of the major problem of these signals is the existence of a baseline with original signal. In this study, we proposed a novel automatic baseline correction method for MRS spectra based on Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD). This investigation was applied on both the simulated data and the in-vivo 1H-MRS of human brain signals. The results indicate the efficiency of the method to remove the baseline from 1H-MRS signals.
Keywords of your Abstract : Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS), Baseline Estimation, Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD)

The Congress Reporting Form
How many volunteers were present at the Congress? : About 50 people
Delegates from which countries presented in the congress? : USA, Canada, UK, Middle East, Iran, etc
Were the delegates of any other organizations present in the congress? : Yes
If yes, please write the names of the organizations in the box : ISMRM, Universities
What were the responses to your talking points? Were specific questions or concerns raised? : Sientific questions were raised from different people in different universities. I enjoyed the conversatons at the poster session and follow up meeting with them.
If you met staff members, please list their full names & positions. : N/A
Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress : No further follow up is needed. In fact, the conference brings many good scientists together, in order to talk with each other and to make strategies for this field of research in the world.

What we did was to communcate with each other after the meetings with eamil to forward things for further collaborations.
Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : Things were smooth and efficient
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : This conference is the best in engineering in medicine, with very interesting and specific scientific topics in different disciplines. Many related scientists who could attend it traveled to Chicago and showed up. We learned a lot from talks as well as conversation.
Important people in different disciplines gave interesting talks, and some were announced for excellent awards. Interestingly, some of my close collaborators were awarded high prestigious positions at this society, for their great contributions in engineering for biology.
