Introduction
Non-surgical rejuvenation is predominant consideration in cosmetic procedures. Many studies concluded that microneedle therapy enables skin rejuvenation appearances but a few studies have investigated public perception and satisfaction about this procedure.
MATERIALS AND METHOD:
Twenty-seven patients were selected based on inclusions and exclusions criteria for the microneedle therapy for face rejuvenation, scar, and alopecia treatment. After signed concept form, patients were treated based on dermapen microneedle protocol. 23 patients completed forms. Patients were asked to provide their opinion about satisfaction in skin and hair appearance using patient satisfaction visual analog scale 1-10 point (VAS) and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment by scoring -3(poor) to +3(excellent) scale after three months of their treatment. The analysis was completed using descriptive static with SPSS 19.
Result:
The mean age of patients was 47.91± 8.63years .91.3 % of patients were female. Rejuvenation 17 cases (73.9 %), Scar treatment 5cases (21.7%) and alopecia 1 case (4.3%) were reported. 15 patient(65.2%) reported the satisfaction as excellent (7-10 on the 10 point scale),seven patient (30.4%) reported the satisfaction as good (score of 4-6) and only 4 patient (4.3%)reported poor( score ≤4).18 patients reported the effectiveness of treatment as extremely and moderately effective (79.3 %) and 5 patients reported a little and not effective at all (21.7%). None of the patients reported a lack of changing or worsening of their skin and hair.Patients opinion about continuing treatment if necessary was 87.00% positive and 91.3 % had recommended to others.
Conclusion
Public perception and satisfaction have an important role in the selection of procedures for rejuvenation and scar treatment, microneedle therapy to anti-aging and scar therapy seems to be an effective and acceptable treatment by public opinion towards commercialization.
