Information of Congress
Title of the Congress : 4th International Conference on Parasitology
Title of your Abstract : A cohort study on asymptomatic Plasmodium-infected malaria among immigrants in malaria--elimination programmed areas of south eastern Iran to underpin malaria eradication
Destination Country : CZECH REPUBLIC
From : Friday, September 1, 2017
To : Saturday, September 2, 2017
Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Background: Asymptomatic Plasmodium infections may act as reservoir, hence representing a hurdle in elimination programs. The aim of this study was to show the role of asymptomatic malaria individuals in the maintenance of P. falciparum/vivax infection in south eastern Iran.

Methods: This cohort study was performed during 2013-2015 in the border areas, southeast of Iran. Immigrants to these parts were physically examined and blood samples were taken 3 times at 6-month intervals. Microscopic examination, indirect fluorescence antibodies test, and Real-time PCR were used for detecting Plasmodium.

Results: Upon analysis of 765 immigrants, seven (0.9%)had specific
Malaria symptoms using microscopy, molecular, and serological tests.

Plasmodium vivax and P.falciparum were detected in five and two of These individuals, respectively. Among the 758 asymptomatic individuals, antiPlasmodium antibodies were detected in five, while the results of
Microscopy and PCR were negative for all. After six months of follow-
up, three cases remaining in the study were still seropositive and only one of them was showed malaria- signs and symptoms.

Conclusion: Asymptomatic and symptomatic Plasmodium-infected cases may

Contribute to the maintenance of P.falciparum/vivax infection and even Establishment of the transmission cycle of the parasites in endemic areas.

Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : In the name of God
I think the administrative procedures of the Czech embassy were very fluid and simple, with a very sensible console and polite and well-behaved staff. And if the documents are complete as requested by the embassy Visa is issued within 2 weeks Only Getting the embassy time is a difficult task that must be sent to the embassy at least 5 months before the date of the travel request. The use of good ticket sales sites is good too.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : Congress was more about the latest medical parasitology in the world, and the parasitic diseases that were neglected were given special attention in speeches.
