Information of Congress
Title of the Congress : 16th sports medicine congress
Title of your Abstract : Prevalence of neck pain among athletes: a systematic review
Destination Country : Turkey
From : Sunday, April 2, 2017
To : Wednesday, April 5, 2017
Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Purpose: Many studies have investigated the prevalence of neck pain (NP) and its risk
factors in general population. However, the prevalence of NP among athletes has not
been systematically investigated yet. We aimed to systematically review the NP
prevalence in athletes. As respects of various definitions of NP, response rates and
reliability of studies instruments, we considered risk of bias for including studies.
Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted in Sep 2015, using PubMed, Ovid
SP Medline, ISI and Google Scholar. We included studies in English that reported the
prevalence of NP in an athletic population in a specifically defined period of time. Two
reviewers independently assessed the studies' quality, and performed data extractions.
Results: Of 1675 titles identified, 8 articles were assessed for bias risk and 6 with low
and moderate risk were included. NP was shown to be prevalent in athletes with a oneweek
prevalence ranging from 8% to 45%, a one-year prevalence ranging from 38% to
73% and life-time prevalence about 48%.
Conclusion: Similar to general population, the prevalence of NP in the athletes is high.
Therefore, more studies regarding pain prevalences and risk factors may be useful for
planning the educational programs, appropriate rehabilitation protocols, and
development of preventive guidelines. Researchers are encouraged to perform
epidemiologic studies with low risk of bias in this regard.

A ticket from a joint venture was made.Congress was in the hotel's Gloria Hotel in Turkey, one of the largest and most equipped sports centers in the world.Participants in the congress could have been accommodated at the Gloria Hotel Congress.ut due to the high cost of staying in this hotel, I and my friends stayed in another hotel and only for the hotel's congressional program We would go there.Information of airline is wrong about the location of our staying hotel .The distance between our residence and the congress was very high.Due to high fuel costs in Turkey, it was difficult to travel to congress hotel.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : Congress was a good experience.
One from Libya and one from Syria and four from Iran participated.
There were not many foreign guests due to security issues.Acquaintance to various advanced devices and equipment was very useful. We got acquainted with a series of new equipment We can use them in our own country and Get new ideas. We became familiar with the professors of other countries and used their experiences.Because of the sports environment, all equipment was special for athletesوThis sporting environment has greatly enhanced the quality of this congress And the interaction with experienced professors was another benefit of this congress.Familiarity with skilled physiotherapists who deal only with athletes was interesting.
