1.Brief summary of Leave : |
To visit British Colombia Woman’s hospital, Division of reproductive Biology and Endocrinology located Vancouver, I have spent there for 6 months and attended in Professor Bedaiwy (Head of division) Laboratory (Monday to Friday). In the first 3 months I participate in 6 workshops such as Biosafety workshop, Biochemical workshop, Workplace Bulling and harassment training, New Worker Safety Orientation, Fire and Emergency Services Training. In the remaining time period, I Participate in the project of RF amide related peptide (RFRP-3) -which is the human ortholog of avian gonadotropin inhibiting hormone (GnIH) - in endometrium and endosalpinx. This was a preliminary study where we used IHC for detection of RFRP-3 in these tissues. |

To be familiar with Reproductive Biology and Endocrinology Research’s center activity, such as endometriosis, endometrial role on embryo implantation and the genes expression on unexplained miscarriage, in an advance University and research center. |

It was an opportunity to me to be familiar with new laboratory and clinical methods in human Assisted Reproduction Technology. In addition to laboratory works, I have participated in UBC Woman’s hospital, Obstetrics and Gynecology seminars (Reproductive biology and Endocrinology Division), and obtained some idea in gynecology and ART fields, especially in Unexplained recurrent miscarriage and Endometriosis. As you know the UBC is one of the top ranked University in the world. So, participation in their research and lab. activities is a good opportunity to be familiar with new research area and points. They have some mandatory standards in their research lab. For example Biosafety workshop, Biochemical workshop, Workplace Bulling and Harassment Training, New Worker Safety Orientation, Fire and Emergency Services Training. After passing these courses I participated in RF amide related peptide (RFRP-3) expression on unexplained recurrent miscarriage project as a project members. We used immunohistochemistry method for detection of related gene expression. Also, I participated in the endometrial stromal cell culture. |
