Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress : |
Ayush Congress started on 3 February in New Delhi with the presence of Ayush Minister. Professors and directors of Jamia Millia Islamia attended and gave speeches in this congress. Speakers from Germany, Sri Lanka, UAE and others were also present. The speakers shared their experiences of treatments based on traditional medicine, especially Unani Medicine. In addition to medicinal treatments, Unani Medicine professors also shared their experiences with non-medicinal treatments. They stated that the treatment of corona based on Unani Medicine has been very successful. Also, treatment based on Unani Medicine has been able to reduce the amount of surgery. Lectures by Iranian doctors about Persian Medicine, treatments performed, traditional pharmaceuticals, and medical history were much appreciated by others. On the sidelines of the Congress, there was an exhibition of herbal medicines produced by Indian factories. Herbal medicines are produced in India based on Unani Medicine. |
Your observations and outcomes : |
In addition to attending the congress, we visited the Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi, Hamdard University in Aligarh and the faculties of Unani Medicine and pharmacy, the large library of Hamdard University, several pharmaceutical factories, the Unani Medicine hospital, Ibn Sina Academy and other centers not related to Unani Medicine. India is about a hundred years ahead of Iran in the field of academic traditional medicine, and visiting its scientific centers, hospitals and clinics brought us valuable experiences. In the Unani Medicine hospital, we saw a patient with diabetic foot who was saved from knee amputation with Unani Medicine treatments. Medicine in India is divided into two categories. Either only modern medicine is taught, or in the field of Unani Medicine, students study Unani Medicine courses in addition to modern medicine courses. The length of the study period is 5.5 years, and after graduation, doctors can prescribe chemical and herbal medicines, hospitalize patients and even perform surgery. Modeling the education of traditional medicine in India can help shortening the education period and reduce the economic burden of education. |
