Department of Clinical Nutrition

The Department of Clinical Nutrition at School of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics provides nutrition services to all areas of the campus. Departmental team members include clinical dietitians, clinical dietitian specialists, senior clinical dietitians and the director for clinical nutrition. The department offers comprehensive nutritional assessment, intervention and education to patients and their families.

The Department is an international center for specialist training and research in clinical and public health aspects of exercise and nutrition sciences. We are one of the best providers of Postgraduate nutrition programs in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This includes specialism in nutrition and dietetics, cardiovascular health and rehabilitation, obesity and weight management, human nutrition, public health nutrition, sports nutrition and physical activity expertise.

The Department offers high quality Masters and taught research degree programs delivered by a team of leading edge practitioners, researchers and academics from across the Iran.

Mission Statement

The Department of Clinical Nutrition:

Provides ongoing education in all aspects of nutrition
Prevents or minimizes the presence of malnutrition that often accompanies acute or chronic diseases
Prevents malnutrition for all admitted patients in hospital
Participates in improving health care in population

Research Centres & Laboratories

Laboratory of Clinical Nutrition is one of the school’s laboratories aiming to determine the rate of energy metabolism in different situations such as resting period or physical activity.

Other objectives of this laboratory services are to determine the body composition by using different methods such as Bioelectric Impedance, as well as working with the callipers. In this laboratory, phlebotomy step is also done.
