On the occasion of Persian Gulf national day April 30th,2018, international students from different nationalities held the first students’ festival exhibition.
National Persian Gulf Day is an official holiday in Iran that takes place on the 10th of Ordibehesht . The date coincides with the anniversary of Abbas I of Persia's successful military campaign when the Portuguese navy was driven out of the Strait of Hormuz in the Capture of Ormuz . The decision was taken by the High Council of Cultural Revolution, presided over by former President Mohammad Khatami, noting that the campaign launched by certain Arab states to rename Persian Gulf was the driver behind the decision.
Authorities, colleagues and students were participated in this exhibition. First of all some verses from Quran were read and national anthem of Islamic republic of Iran was played and then also Persian Gulf clip was shown . International students were welcomed guests by traditional food which was prepared in different stalls.
