Health Insurance for International Students of TUMS International Campus

Dear International Students

The terms and conditions for National Basic Insurance booklet and medical support at the university’s hospitals are as follows:

1. Medical support of university’s hospitals:

• In the academic year of 2019-2020, the TUMS' office for Student and Cultural Affairs has provided all international students of Tehran University of Medical Sciences’ International Campus with medical support from university hospitals (16 Hospitals) for $10 per student (mandatory payment).
• Students applying for university’s hospitals support services can also include their spouse and children for $10 per person in the academic year of 2019-2020.
• It should be noted that the support services (inpatient and outpatient) are limited to TUMS and Tehran Health Service affiliated hospitals for urgent and emergency treatment and does not include elective (non-emergency) surgery, plastic surgery, restorative, cesarean section, as well as dental and pharmaceutical services.

2. National Basic Insurance

• Students and their families who are applying for the National Basic Insurance (which is accepted in governmental hospitals) must submit their written application to the Office of Student and Cultural Affairs of the campus from August 6^th till September 6^th , 2019. Then, documentaries will be referred to be approved for issuing the insurance license based on the officially-listed prices (approximately 10,000,000 rials).
• Students applying for Section II (National Basic Insurance) must submit the following documents as scanned according to the bellows steps to the Office of Student and Cultural Affairs’ email address (icsa@tums.ac.ir) or as a physical file to Ms. Haj Ebrahim:
  • Filling out the application form filled with the required information ( Form)
  • A photo (in 4:3 ratio)
  • The first page of the passport, one-year student visa, temporary visa
