Duhok Polytechnic University is one of three polytechnic universities in Kurdistan Region under the auspices of the (KRG) Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research followed by establishing seven technical institutes at six neighboring districts, namely Akre, Amedi, Bardarash, Shingal, Shekhan and Zakho. In 2012, the Duhok Polytechnic University (DPU) was inaugurated to include the eight technical institutes and four technical colleges.

DPU has 1028 Employees/264 Full-time Teaching Staff. And the total number of graduates since founded is 19558, preparing them with distinct levels of knowledge and technological innovation to achieve the international standards of quality assurance in accordance with the labor market needs in public and private sectors.

The goal of DPU is to provide a high quality education for students preparing them to meet the everevolving needs and opportunities of the 21st century workforce and to ensure that DPU graduates are armed with up-to-date, real-world skills and equipped with current industry knowledge.

In order to comprehend full potential of the university staff and enabling them to become the driving force for sustainable development, DPU continues designing and implementing a comprehensive program across a broad spectrum of professional activities. This is enhanced by signing bilateral agreements with international partner universities, increasing the number of specialization courses and curricular paths in English and promoting scholarly research and creative activities as well as increasing the effective use of technology in teaching.

Since the foundation, DPU has always applied all aspects of modern education and innovation in the fields of science and technology to play the key role preparing students to be ready for both education and career, and possessing teaching professionals who are widely experienced with varied backgrounds stretching from local, national and international. In this project DPU will be involved in A Quality assurance and impact evaluation, work with Iranian and Iraqi partners in developing training materials for staff members, coaching trainers who will train the staff members in partner universities, participating in evaluation and committee, Dissemination Sustainability and Exploitation of Results of the project, The benefit of this system goes beyond using technology to provide educators, administrators and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system to create personalized learning environments.

 

OPATEL Project Coordinator:

 

Prof. Dr. Adnan Mohsin Abdulazeez

President of Duhok Polytechnic University, Professor of Computer Engineering and Science. Dr. Abdulazeez holds Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, M.Sc. in Computer and Control Engineering, and his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He was the Dean of Duhok Technical Institute until August 2012. He has been assigned as head of many scientific departments and committees in public and private universities in Kurdistan Region and Iraq. He has published a number of articles and researches in local and international scientific journals. He supervised more than thirty Ph.D. and M.Sc. Students, among those students there are three M.Sc. students’ dissertations on (E-University Projects) which covers the E-Learning theme and implementing the system of E-University at DPU.

   

Asst. Prof. Dr. Subhi Rafeeq Mohammed Zeebaree

Head of IT Dept. at Technical College of Informatics-DPU, Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering. Dr. Zeebaree holds Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, M.Sc. in Computer and Control Engineering, and his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He was the head of Computer Systems at Amedi Technical Institution. He was an academic staff of many scientific departments in public and private universities in Kurdistan Region and Iraq. He has published a number of articles and researches in local and international scientific journals. He supervised more than twenty five Ph.D. and M.Sc. Students, among those students there are three M.Sc. students’ dissertations on (E-University Projects) which covers the E-Learning theme and implementing the system of E-University at DPU.

   

Dr. Firas Mahmoud Mustafa

He is the chairman of Petrochemical Engineering at Duhok Polytechnic University (DPU), since October 2016. He received his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from University of Mosul-Iraq, College of Engineering, Electric engineering dept. at 1997, 2000 and 2007 respectively.  He has a PhD in Computer Engineering. Experience with IT projects, image Denoising systems, development and computer networks.  He has served in Computer Engineering and Computer Science departments in various universities including ALHADBA, Mosul, Zakho, Nawroz, and DPU, since 1999.  He has published a journal and conference papers in fields of networking, Image processing, wavelet transform and the person recognition systems. He is a member of OPATEL team for Erasmus + projects at DPU Duhok.
