Start of the first virtual joint program on Telemedicine and Telepharmacy by Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and University of Camerino
The first educational joint program on Telemedicine and Telepharmacy which lasts for six month, is being held with the award of Joint certificate from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and University of Camerino
Telemedicine and Telepharmacy program was officialy strated by the effort of TUMS Virtual School with the contribution of TUMS Children’s Medical Center on July 11, 2017.
In the opening ceremony of this program, a few delegates from TUMS and University of Camerino were presented and had speeches on the issue.
Dr. Reza Shervin Badv, Head of TUMS Children’s Medical Center, emphasized on the necessity and importance of this subject and stated that the most important aspect of Telemedicine is to provide health equity while everyone has the right to access health services.
Dr. Sina Marashi, Vice Dean of Virtual Education Development at TUMS Virtual School, continued with an introduction of the given program and declared that this program is in line with the Memorandum of Understanding that was previously signed between TUMS and University of Camerino on the training and provision of telemedicine services.
Dr. Seyed Khosrow Tayebati, Professor of Telemedicine at the University of Camerino, and director of this six-month program, said Tehran University of Medical Sciences is one of the best universities in the world. He continued Telemedicine is a necessity in today's world and Patients can benefit from health care facilities without in-person refers.
The meeting continued with lectures by a number of professors from each university.
At the end of the ceremony, the first session of the Telemedicine and Telepharmacy was held. It is worth mentioning that this is a virtual program and only two blocks of presence, at the beginning and end of the period, is necessary.
