New Gateways for Iran-Switzerland Academic Partnerships

TUMS Leading House for Iran-Switzerland Academic Partnerships was established following TUMS Chancellor’s meeting with the Swiss Secretary for Education.

 

On Sunday, May 7th, a meeting was held at TUMS Headquarters with the attendance of TUMS officials, Swiss Secretary for Education, the Honorable Mauro Dell’Ambrogio, and a delegation from the Swiss embassy.

 

Dr. Karimi, TUMS Chancellor, initiated the meeting by presenting an introduction to TUMS and its activities. Furthermore, he explained about the university's internationalization efforts and TUMS's commitment to the development of the education of medical sciences at national and international levels, as well as the expansion of international faculty members’ network.

 

Mauro Dell’Ambrogio, Swiss Secretary for Education, stated that; “This meeting is a great opportunity for us to know more about the Iranian educational system and have a better overview toward our partnerships”. He also touched upon previous educational collaborations between Switzerland and TUMS, expressing hope to see more constructive and practical efforts with regard to Iran-Switzerland relations.

 

 

Later on, officials from TUMS Office of Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs thoroughly explained the international activities of TUMS to the audience, emphasizing opportunities to capitalize on possible cooperation grounds.

 

This meeting resulted in the establishment of TUMS Leading House for Iran-Switzerland Academic Partnerships, that will indeed serve to broaden the horizons of academic and educational collaborations between the two countries.
