For the September 2015 M.D. program, TUMS offers two types of scholarships: Type C and Type B scholarships.
Type C Scholarship:
The details of your expenses for the first year of your studies at TUMS are provided in the table below:
TUMS provides all students with computer labs, library, and Wi-Fi Internet access at the dormitories, as well as a partial lunch plan.
If you apply for TUMS type C scholarship and your request is approved, for the first year TUMS will provide you with:

free-of-charge visa & registration,

free first transport from airport in Tehran,

free accommodation,
-
free health & sport insurance,
-
free Persian classes.
All of the above-mentioned facilities, which totally cost $3,925, will be paid by TUMS.
And from your second year onwards, TUMS provides you with:

free-of-charge accommodation,
-
free health & sport insurance,
-
free Persian classes.
All of the above-mentioned facilities, which totally cost $3,850, will be paid by TUMS.
In other words, students who are offered type C scholarship will receive 3,925 U.S. dollars as TUMS financial assistance for their first-year expenses and 3,850 U.S. dollars as TUMS financial assistance for the following official years of the program. Life expenses and travel tickets will not be covered by this scholarship. Therefore, students are responsible for them.
To apply for Type C Scholarship, please send us an official request letter along with all your other documents. In addition, students who are interested in funding opportunities are encouraged to include their request and the reason why they should be awarded a scholarship as a part of their letter of motivation.
Type B Scholarship:
If you apply for TUMS scholarships and you are considered as one of the most qualified applicants, you may be accepted for type B scholarship.

Type B Scholarship is a Tuition-Waiver Scholarship.
|
Some qualified applicants may be approved to receive one of the TUMS tuition-waiver scholarships (between 1% to 100% discount for the first-year tuition fee), based on their scores obtained in previous degrees. In this case, you might receive between 1 up to 100 percent discount on your first-year tuition fee, and you should pay the rest of the tuition fee. Based on this scholarship, the awarded amount of your first-year tuition fee will be paid by TUMS. This scholarship (tuition-waiver) is for your first academic year and can be extended by TUMS Scholarship Committee on a yearly basis depending on your academic performance at TUMS.

Your first year awarded tuition-waiver scholarship may be extended for your second year based on your academic performance at TUMS. The extension of the scholarship follows a yearly basis.
