In order to facilitate administrative affairs and observe consular regulations, as well as saving your time, it is imperative to proceed with acquiring a one-year residency permit after arrival and registration at TUMS:
1. You must proceed with acquiring your one-year residency permit during the first week after your arrival and after finalizing your registration at TUMS.
2. Students need to open a file at Visa and Consular Affairs Office of TUMS Directorate of International Affairs and Development at the address below:

Hours for Submitting Documents: Saturdays to Wednesdays, 8:30 to 15:30
3. Upon submitting your required documents (see below) to the Visa and Consular Affairs Office on TUMS, you will receive a receipt which should be kept with you during the time that you do not have your passport with you. You can receive your passport after approximately one month, upon submitting your receipt and competed form.
4. Required documents are as follows:

Original passport

Four ID pictures (size: 3x4 cm)

Four copies of your passport’s information page (first page)

Four copies of your E-type entry visa (original paper which is stamped at the border)

Four copies of Completed Application form for Residence Permit (available at TUMS Directorate of International Affairs and Development). All the information of the form should be typed completely and then printed out before submitting to the office.

Deposit 200,000 Rials (20,000 Tomans) in to the Police department bank Account (2171151302005) in Meli Bank and submit the payment’s receipt with your documents to TUMS Visa Office.

20,000 Rials in cash (2,000 Tomans) for opening a file at the police department and issuance of a one-year permit
Note: The cost of issuing a one-year permit for a student’s spouse or children is 1,000,000 Rials (100,000 Tomans) for each passport. For further information in this regard, please refer to Guidelines on Acquiring Visa for a Student’s Spouse or Children.
Important Recommendation: Upon receiving your one-year residency permit, students must check the validity of the residency and inform the Visa office for any incorrect information.
Important note: Incident insurance coverage is required to apply for one year residency for all International students enrolled in TUMS and other higher education institutions in Iran. International students can apply for accident insurance by purchasing electronic accident insurance online from The Hayat-e-Amn Insurance Company, www.hayateamn.ir and the provision of consular services to International students will be subject to the issuance of an accident insurance policy.
