Heikki Murtomaa, professor and Head of Department of Oral Public Health at University of Helsinki in Finland paid a visit to various clinical parts of TUMS School of Dentistry on 07 June 2014.
After the visit, a meeting was held at the school with presence of Dr. Nekoofar, Director of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking, Dr. Khami, Vice Dean of the school in charge of international affairs, and Tania Azadi, an accreditation officer. During the meeting, programmatic accreditation in School of Dentistry and also the possibility of holding short –run courses in cooperation with University of Helsinki were discussed. TUMS has the international certificate of institutional accreditation from the distinguished organization of Accreditation Services for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC), said Dr. Nekoofar adding that programmatic accreditation is among important plans of the university and the School of Dentistry is among the schools interested in the process.
Moreover, Professor Murtomaa completely explained the method of programmatic accreditation in the school and expressed willingness for more cooperation with the university.
