Following the visit Professor Peter Labas, Dean of Medical Faculty at Comenius University paid to TUMS various hospitals and schools recently, a meeting was held at the office of Vice Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs, on 13 July 2014, attended by Dr. Emami, Dean of TUMS School of Medicine, Dr. Bayat, Dean of TUMS School of Dentistry, Dr. Nekoofar, Director of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking, Dr. Akhoondzadeh, Vice Dean of School of Medicine for International Affairs, Professor Peter Labas, Dr. Cambal, Vice Dean of Medical Faculty at Comenius University, Kambiz Rahmani, a student from Comenius University, and some other international staff of TUMS.
During the meeting, Prof. Labas introduced himself and his colleagues briefly and spoke of shortages at Comenius University for dental implants. Accordingly, Dr. Nekoofar expressed readiness for holding short courses for overcoming the said shortage. He also spoke of TUMS potential for holding similar courses by the School of Medicine, especially in basic sciences such as genetics, if need be. Dr. Nekoofar further emphasized on making MoUs practical, saying that there is no point in signing them otherwise.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Labas signed an MoU with Dr. Emami and Dr. Bayat, aiming at increasing mutual collaborations.
It is worth mentioning that prior to the meeting; the Slovakian Delegation had visited various departments at School of Dentistry including the ones for Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, etc.
