Aiming at initiating and expanding international academic collaborations, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and University of Sassari, Italy signed an MoU on 30 August 2014.
In a meeting attended by Prof. Leonardo Sechi, Dean of School of Medicine at University of Sassari and a number of officials from TUMS School of Medicine and TUMS Office of Vice Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs, Dr. Feizabadi, Secretary of Microbiology Congress said that the congress provided opportunity for mutual collaborations. He further asserted that next year, before launch of the 16th International Microbiology Congress, Prof. Leonardo Sechi and other interested professors of that university will be invited to an educational workshop hosted by TUMS School of Medicine.
Prof. Sechi also welcomed new collaboration areas with TUMS and stated that University of Sassari will eagerly cooperate in regard with holding joint programs and PhD courses. At present, both universities can exchange three PhD students per year he added and asked Dr. Feizabadi to cooperate with University of Sassari as a visiting professor.
At the end of the meeting, an MoU of mutual collaborations was signed between Sassari School of Medicine and Microbiology Department at TUMS School of Medicine.
