Information of Congress
Title of the Congress : 15th Congress of the World Federation for Laser Dentistry (WFLD 2016)
Title of your Abstract : Evaluation of the viability effect of photobiomodulation on squamous cell carcinoma; an in vitro study
Destination Country : Japan
From : Sunday, July 17, 2016
To : Tuesday, July 19, 2016
Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Abstract
Introduction: Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) has been shown to accelerate cell proliferation, though there is controversy between this proliferation effect of LLLT in normal and carcinomatous cells due to susceptibility of malignant cells to proliferative stimuli.
Our goal is to compare the biological response of squamous cell carcinoma cells proliferation to 4 different wavelengths of diode lasers while other parameters are the same.
Method and material: HN5 Cell line were irradiated with diode lasers (532-485-660-810 nm) using 1.0 J/cm2 energy densities in the continuous mode during 5 consecutive days at the same daytime. The proliferative potential was assessed by MTT assay.
Results: In this study our results showed that 810 nm laser irradiation induced the highest percentage of cell survival despite 660 nm which induced the lowest percentage of cell survival. We conclude that both dose and wavelengths are factors that may affect the percentage of viability of HN5 cells.
Conclusion: This study demonstrated that LLLT stimulatory effect on proliferation can effect on invasion which was associated with alterations on expression of proteins which should be assessed in details.

The Congress Reporting Form
How many volunteers were present at the Congress? : about500
Delegates from which countries presented in the congress? : germany, china, australia, japan, italy....
Were the delegates of any other organizations present in the congress? : Yes
If yes, please write the names of the organizations in the box : shahid beheshti and aja university
What were the responses to your talking points? Were specific questions or concerns raised? : it can help in oral cancer treatments and open new way in laser dentistry and new methods in dentistry. there is no specific question
If you met staff members, please list their full names & positions. : I met some researchers in the field of medical laser from all of these countries and Iran.
Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress : since we do not have any credit card, preparing for the congress and even paying registration fee is very hard for me, It is recommended that university help to facilitate this situation for us. some process of visa affair is a little complicated for some country. some specific limitation in writing this report is completely strange to me like specific word count!!!
in each congress most of us can had a special conversation with researchers in those country so it is highly recommended that you see every one as a messenger to these countries and help us to prepare som situation in collaboration with other universities.
Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : as dr fekrazad support and give us recommendation so everything is ok. but without his help everything would be so awful.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : Iranian presentation had a very high standard and wide range of topic in that congress. it showed we had many potentials in Iran that even it surprised other countries researchers. the most important factor in this congress is timing and the whole atmosphere of the congress, Japaneses are very polite and special person who are very friendly to all strangers. another point show me that in their congress the business part and exhibition is not more noticeable.one of the most important thing is the confidence of other laser society to our medical laser association which is just because of powerful communication and scientific base of dr fekrazad.
Attendance of a great group of Iranian scientists among participant countries was too honorable and they were really surprised by our interest in researches. since most of the iranian participants are so young those researchers really appreciate this . they like to have communication, collaboration and joint project with us in Iran.
