This course offers a unique opportunity to investigators from the Middle East region to participate in a 13-day scientific workshop, which begins with a 4-day data analysis course, followed by a 9-day intensive manuscript-writing workshop. Participants will be expected to bring working drafts of manuscripts, which will then be revised and finalized during the workshop. This blended learning approach is designed to provide a platform for participants to develop and revise their manuscripts through an extended interactive process with a mentor and peers. The objectives of this course are:
• To acquire the skills of HIV/AIDS and drug abuse related research and data analysis
• To acquire the skills necessary to develop, write, and publish an HIV/AIDS and drug abuse related scientific manuscript
• To learn how to use mentoring and peer-review to improve an HIV/AIDS related scientific manuscript
• To integrate manuscript writing into ongoing educational and professional activities
The manuscripts may focus on HIV-related epidemiology, mental health, substance use and high risk behaviors, clinical and basic sciences. Selected scholars will be paired with mentors with expertise in their research topic.
Registration cost: 700 EUROs which includes tuition fee, course material, lunch and two coffee breaks during the 13-day of the workshop (this will not include flight, accommodation or other auxiliary expenses).
