Medical Microbiology
A doctoral degree is available to students that have demonstrated the ability to conceptualize design and implement a substantial research project that results in new knowledge, applications or undrestanding in their field of study.
Duration
The Medical Microbiology program lasts at least 4 years.
Objectives
Medical Microbiology is a branch of laboratory and clinical medicine concerned for diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases: bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites. In this course, the student will be study the agents responsible for causing human infections and able to recognize common infectious agents and the diseases that they cause.
Methods of Instruction
Training Course in the form of lectures, laboratory sessions, seminars.

Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Microbiology, Microbiology, Virology or related degrees
Doctor in Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.)
Medical Doctor (M.D.)

Applicants are selected on the basis of their CV, qualifications and referee’s reports together with their received ability to complete the program successfully and on the value of the training offered to their subsequent career plans.

Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.
