Professor Sean Strain is professor emeritus of nutrition at the Ulster University in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. He has been a member of the NDA Panel and the chair of the health claims working group for nine years.
He has received the British Nutrition Foundation's 2012 Prize for his contribution to research in his field. He was elected Member of the Royal Irish Academy in 2002 and in 2014 was awarded the Order of the British Empire for services to nutrition research and education.
On September 6, 2016 Prof. Strain was presented with the TUMS Distinguished Visiting Professor Title for the duration of 2016-2019 by Dean of School of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics.
