2. Name of the Department: Microbiology
A brief explanation about the Microbiology Department
Our department that is belong to school of medicine, offers a whole range of courses and programs in Medical Microbiology at MD, MSc, PhD. It is worth mentioning that at the present time we have around 200 students at the undergraduate in medicine, 13 students at MSc and 10 students at the PhD level. The department of clinical microbiology has two laboratories for research and diagnostic. The department has forged a close link with some of accredited and certified domestic and international organizations and institutions over the years; particularly it has come to have a close collaboration with the research department of Pasteur Institute of Iran, Razi Research institution, division Molecular Bacteriology University of Leuven Belgium and so on. Also, our department offers counseling services in clinical diagnostic microbiology. Meanwhile, those applicants who are willing to apply to PhD. should know that the minimum requirement or the eligibility or criteria of admissions is a master’s degree in microbiology and some of field close in basic science.
