Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Adsorption of Reactive Blue 19 azo dye from Textile Wastewater by Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles: Kinetic and Equilibrium studies

Abstract
Untreated disposal of colored textile wastewater into environment imposes serious damages to aquatic life. Additionally, some dyes are toxic and mutagenic to human. Conventional biological wastewater treatment methods are not able to remove reactive dyes from colored wastewater, efficiently.
In this work, the adsorption of Reactive Blue 19 from colored textile wastewater using magnetic iron nanoparticles (Fe3O4) was investigated by batch adsorption experiments.
The effect of parameters such as pH (3-8), contact time (2-90 minutes), adsorbent dose (0.2-1 g/l) and adsorbate concentration (10-150 mg/l) on dye removal efficiency were studied. Moreover, kinetics and isotherms of adsorption were surveyed. Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared through coprecipitation method. The structure of the magnetic iron nanoparticles was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Based on the SEM image analysis, the average size of Fe3O4 Nanoparticle was found to range between 10 and 15 nm.
This study revealed that when the adsorbent dose and contact time increased and pH decreased, dye removal would be increased. In the optimal condition, Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles were able to remove dye as high as 96% in 60 minutes at adsorbent dose of 1 g/l and pH 3. Equilibrium studies revealed that the adsorption of dye onto adsorbent fits well with langmuir isotherm. The results showed that dye removal followed pseudo-second-order kinetic (R2>0.99). According to the Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm, adsorption mean free energy was found to be 1.58 kJ/mol, which indicates the physical adsorption of dye onto adsorbent.
It can be concluded that, dye adsorption by Fe3O4 Nanoparticle is a fast, convenient and efficient method to remove dye from colored wastewater.

Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress : The third international congress on nanoscience and nanotechnology attended by 400 professors and leading scientists of various academic fields and was held on 2 and 3 July 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey.
During the conference, I had chance to communicate with a lot of well known researchers from different countries. Fortunately, I could talk to Mr. Pablo Herves from Spain (from the University of Vigo), which is one of the world's leading scientist in the field of nanotechnology. I could encourage him to think about holding some workshops on nanotechnology in Iran via explaining the scientific and educational progresses at Tehran University of Medical Sciences during the last years. Professor Herves promised to review my proposal and inform me about acceptance or rejection of my offer as soon as possible.
In the end I recommend that participation in such conferences promotes scientific basis of its participants, because of sharing the information between researchers and familiarity with the latest scientific achievements of the scientists from other countries. In such congresses we can be introduced to outstanding professors and use their scientific collaboration in the related projects in our country.

Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : I reserved plane ticket in advance and looked for hotel when I arrived Istanbul. The most of ordinary Turkish people could not speak English well enough to get contact with.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : The atmosphere of conference was very scientific and friendly. More than 150 researchers from different parts of the world presented their recent findings in nano science including Nanotubes, Nanorods, Nano and environment, Nano and solar cells, Nanosensors and Actuators, Nano catalysts, Nanobiology, Nanoelectronics, Nanofabrication and Nanoassemblies, Nanofluidics, Nanomagnetics, Nanoelectromagnetics, Nanomedicine.
The most important achievement of conference was improving my nano knowledge.
Also, I became familiar with other nano researchers and new aspects of nano science.
