Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Body: Introduction: Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is an ideal platform for the metabolic
analysis of biofluids. Sulfur mustard (SM) is a alkylating chemical warfare agent that cause lung injury and despite
years of research there is no common consensus about the pathophysiological basis of mustard airway disease.
Aims and objectives: we used 1H NMR spectroscopy to explore the metabolic profile of sera from mustard airway
disease patients.
Methods: A total of twenty nine serum samples obtained from SMinjured
patients (n=17) and healthy controls
(n=12) were investigated. Random forest (RF) analysis was capable of distinguishing SMexposed
patients from
controls.
Results: A total of 18 metabolites differed significantly in intensity between the two groups. Serum samples from
SMinjured
patients were characterized by increased concentrations of amino acid metabolism (Lglutamine,
Lglutamate,
Lasparagine,
Llysine,
Lglycine,
Lproline,
and 4hydroxyproline),
lipid metabolism, citrate, ketone
bodies, organic acid (lactate and acetate), urea pathway (citrulline), and creatine, relative to control subjects.
Discussion: Our study reveals the metabolic profile of sera from SMinjured
patients and indicates that NMRbased
methods can distinguish these patients from healthy controls. .Also, serum Metabolomic profile of COPD patients
differ with mustard airway disease by increased levels of methylhistidine (a muscle protein) and reduced levels of
branchedchain
amino acids as well as 4hydroxyproline
and proline. It suggests that Metabolomicbased
diagnostics not only can distinguish mustard airway disease with healthy controls, but also can diagnose from
COPD.

The Congress Reporting Form
How many volunteers were present at the Congress? : 12000
Delegates from which countries presented in the congress? : Germany,UK,Japan,USA,krotia
Were the delegates of any other organizations present in the congress? : Yes
If yes, please write the names of the organizations in the box : Iranian society of pulmonary
What were the responses to your talking points? Were specific questions or concerns raised? : my work is new research field and experience about this is low,but I got some idea about exhaled bio marker, and also i participate in some postgraduate course :NIV ,thoracic ultrasound and plural catheter
If you met staff members, please list their full names & positions. : I talked with some expert in some session for example stafano nava as a expert in NIV.
Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress : NO but I want to run some workshop with collaboration of ERS expert./////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : the credit cart is a necessary and very helpful for travel processing
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : Congress have a very different session and meeting and it isn't possible to report in this form. One of the most interesting sessions were live bronchoscopy in intervention FOB.advanced Noninvasive ventilation was a good session that presented as a postgraduate course and I was in that course.Other post graduate course that i participated were thoracic ultrasound and plural catheter ,these courses were very helpful for practice.some hot topics were the main anatomical site of involvement in asthma and copd that very important for drug delivery and this idea could change treatment in the future.........some sessions were focus on exhaled bio marker particularly FeNO for Asthma and COPD management.COPD comorbiditeis was a hot topic that very interesting. The airway involveme
