Title of the Congress : EAACI 2017
Title of your Abstract : Investigation of IL-17 producing CD26-/low memory Treg cells in patients with psoriasis
Destination Country : Finland
From : Saturday, June 17, 2017

Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Introduction
Defects in frequency and function of regulatory T cells (Treg) have been shown in Psoriasis. Under ex vivo stimulation, IL-17+ Treg cells were significantly increased in psoriasis patients compared to normal subjects. CD26, a surface molecule with dipeptidyl peptidase activity, is expressed mainly on effector T cells which is negative or low on Treg cells. We aimed to evaluate IL-17+ CD26-/low memory Treg cells in patients with psoriasis.
Method
In this study, we isolated memory T cells from 10 patients and 10 sex and age matched controls. The cells were activated with anti CD3/CD28 for 48h and stimulated with PMA/ionomycin for 4.5h. IL-17+ Foxp3+CD25+ CD26-/low and CD26hi subpopulations in memory T cells were evaluated. The samples were acquired on flow cytometry and data were analyzed by FlowJo 7.6.
Result:
Our results revealed that the percentage of IL-17 producing Foxp3+CD25+CD26-/low memory T cells, which were considered as regulatory cells, decreased in patients compared to controls. (Mean ± SEM; 32.4 ± 5.2, 39.1± 4.6, respectively), although it was not statistically significant, (P=0.35). Investigation of intracellular IL-17 producing Foxp3+CD25+CD26hi memory T cells, which were considered as effector cells) indicated not significantly reduced in percentage of IL-17 producing cells from patients compared to controls.(Mean ± SEM; 53.2 ± 3.6, 64.7± 4.2, respectively, P=0.062).(Figure 2)
Conclusion:
Taken together, our results were in contrast with previous evidences regarding to IL-17 production in ex vivo stimulated Treg cells in patients with psoriasis. Present finding propose that the major of IL-17 producing cells (both in CD26 low and CD26 hi compartments) migrate to skin to involve in inflammatory responses.

Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress :
Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : In my mind, it would be great by providing better facilities, international department of University could support and help students for international congress attendance. I had problem to get an introduction letter for embassy.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) is a well known organization. EAACI 2017 was very well organized. Each program was held on time. I had discussion with other students about their work. It was a very nice experience
