Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : Abstract: Firstly investigated in the late 19th century, there is a relationship between infection and tumor regression. Coley’s toxin was the beginning of cancer vaccine development empowered by investigation of the role of activating immune system after bacterial infection. Immunosurveillance and immunoediting theory were introduced as a description of the interaction between cancer and immune system in the middle of 20th century. Adjuvants, adoptive immunotherapy, interferon alpha (INFα), and interleukin 2 (IL2) were novel therapeutic approaches in that time. Later on, new vaccine types; monoclonal antibodies targeting various tumor antigens, functional molecules in cancer development, and immune checkpoints; chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy, and oncolytic viruses were discovered in the last years and are being evaluated. They are mainly developed subsequent to the understanding of basic immunology in the tumor development i.e., through a bench-to-beside endeavor. BCG, INFα, and IL2 were approved in 20th century and Up to now, more than 25 modalities including immnunotherapeutic and immnopreventive approaches against cancer have been commercialized. Although, cancer immunotherapy still has a long way to go. It has several advantages over conventional therapies, which make it a great potential to be exploited for cancer treatment. Herein, a comprehensive insight to the evolution of cancer immunotherapy will be provided by reviewing existing literature.

What were the responses to your talking points? Were specific questions or concerns raised? : The responses were very positive. As the congress was an interdisciplinary one, the participants were very interested to my talk, which was focused on the treatment of a prevalent disease, cancer. They asked some questions about the mechanisms that the immune system uses to recognize tumor cells, the cost-effectiveness of novel immunotherapies for cancer and the role of genetic and life style in developing cancer.

Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : Getting the visa was a little difficult according to the rules of the embassy. Getting appropriate tickets was not easy as well, and I had to buy tickets from two different airlines.
When I arrived Kharkiv two medical students from Kharkiv National Medical University were at the airport to pick up and take me to the hotel booked for the delegates. The students and organizers were very kind and hospitable. They talked about their experiences of studying medicine in Kharkiv, Ukraine and asked about the similarities between the Tehran University of Medical Sciences and their universities.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : The 2nd International USERN Congress was held in Kharkiv, Ukraine, from 8th to 10th of November 2017.
It was a multidisciplinary congress covering different fields of science including medical, biological, physical, social and formal sciences with the shared theme of Evolution in Science. Nine leading scientists of the world were the keynote lecturers of this congress who had come from different continents and countries such as Canada, Germany, USA, Italy, UK, and Slovenia. There were also several oral and poster presentations known as junior talks which were presented by the talent undergraduate and graduate students.
Five universities and academic centers of Kharkiv, Ukraine hosted the congress, Kharkiv national medical University, Karazin Kharkiv National University, Kharkiv Polytechnic University, National University of Pharmacy and Kharkiv University Consortium.
The opening session of the congress took place at the Premier Palace Hotel Kharkiv with speech of of Yuliya Svitlychns the Governor of Kharkiv Oblast and head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (HOGA) and rectors of the 5 Ukrainian universities. Then, the scientific lectures started with Evolution and changes in ecosystems by Prof. Daniel Pauly, from Canada. The next keynote lectures were the global food value chain – Systemic strategies for food authentication by Prof Markus Fischer from Germany, evolution of genes that make us human by prof. Evan Eichler, from USA, evolution in diagnosis of immunological disorders by prof. Nima Rezaei, from Iran, Almagest to day by prof. Massimo Capaccioli, from Italy, a new generation of sustainable carbon electrocatalysts for renewable energy technologies by prof. Maria Magdalena Titirici, from UK, brain network dynamics and flexible cognition and behavior by prof. Lucina Qazi Uddin, from USA, the undeniable impact of complex system science on human lives by prof. Matjaž Perc, from Slovenia, nano-material preparation and their application in the modern world by prof. Valentina Cauda, from Italy.
The second day had a fascinating parallel program in 4 universities of Kharkiv. In each site, there were leading scientists and junior scientists who gave their speech on the recent advancement of their specialty and they explained the evolutionary way of the subject. From the theoretical sciences to physical, molecular, cellular, medical and finally the social sciences were covered in the keynote lectures, junior talks and poster presentations. The participants were very surprised by the attractive scientific program of the congress.
In the third day, the glorious closing ceremony and awarding festival of USERN Prize 2017 were held by presenting 5 USERN medals to the leading scientists under age of 40 in 5 fields including medical, biological, physical, social and formal sciences. The laureates are mentioned below:
