Abstract(Please copy/paste the abstract send to the congress) : The ESR1 gene rs1801132 variation and breast cancer risk in Iran S. Abbasi 1 1 , S. Kalbasi 2 PhD, Assistant professor, Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of allied Medicine, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran 2 DVM, Veterinary Medicine, University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran Abstract Introduction: Evidence suggests that alterations in estrogen signaling pathways, including estrogen receptor alpha and estrogen receptor beta occur during breast cancer development and both genes polymorphisms have been found to be associated with breast cancer and clinical features of the disease in the western countries. In the current study, we evaluated the hypothesis that certain sequence variants of the ER-alpha and ER-beta genes are associated with an additively increased risk for breast cancer in Iranian women breast cancer patients. Methods: The genes were scanned in 150 Iranian patients with newly diagnosed invasive breast tumors and in healthy control individuals by PCR single-strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) method. Results: Three SNPs rs2077647 ،rs1801132 ،rs2228480 in ER-alpha gene and one SNP rs1256054 in ER-beta were revealed have additive effects in developing breast cancer and LN metastases. Also, SNP in codon 392 of estrogen receptor-beta gene is more effective (10 folds and three folds) than those SNPs in codons 10, 325, 594 of estrogen receptor-alpha gene in developing familial breast cancer and LN metastases in breast cancer patients respectively. Conclusion: SNPs in estrogen receptor alpha and beta have additive effects in increasing risk for developing familial breast cancer and breast LN metastases among Iranian women breast cancer patients and furthermore SNP in codon 392 of estrogen receptor-beta gene is more effective. Keywords: Breast cancer, Estrogen receptor, polymorphism, LN metastases This research has been supported by Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Health Services grant numbers: 2850 and 6165

How many volunteers were present at the Congress? : around 2000 scientists
Delegates from which countries presented in the congress? (please name at least 5 countries) : United Kingdom-Netherlands-United States-Germany-France-Italy- Estonia-Cyprus-Belgium-Canada-Portugal-Poland-Finland.
Were the delegates of any other organizations present in the congress? : Yes
Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : I participate at ESHG conference almost all every year. I book the ticket and accommodations through agency in Iran. The hotel was Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers which was far from the congress hall about 20 minutes by walk.
If yes, please write the names of the organizations in the box : Martina Cornel,in Mawi DNA Technologies.
What were the responses to your talking points? Were specific questions or concerns raised? : Yes, I wanted to know more about PPPC on genetic testing in case of sudden cardiac death., and also about fast technical developments including CRISPR-CAD9 technology that raises many policy questions.
If you met staff members, please list their full names & positions. : Prof. Anita Brridge, chair of the ESHG PPPC. She was the Chair of the ESHG PPPC. She is the member of the PPPC in 2016-2017. She is working on post-modern genetic testing and gene editing with the other members.
Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress : No, thanks I am in touch with the PPPC organization workshop committees consist of 12 experts in pathology, cardiology, genetics and law through the e-mail.
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : A total of 138 out out of 2389 submitted abstract have been selected for oral presentations and 40 abstracts for e- posters. The conference was firmly focus on education and training. and scientists were met to to provide an introduction to the topic providing all attendees with an up to date knowledge of the developments in the particular field.
