1.Brief summary of Leave : |
During this period, I worked on making micro and nanoparticles of a new extract where we studied the effect of them on various cells. In addition, I took part in various lectures and I have established many new contacts for possible future collaboration. |

2.List the objectives of your sabbatical leave as listed in your proposal and indicate how completely they were met : |
A new extract was found to be effective against GI tract cancer cells and we wanted to check whether these extracts can be active against various cancer cells. Therefore, we tried to make small particles using either Jet-mill or Spray-drying technique and try to characterize these particles and then it will be used against various cancer cells. |

3.Acheivements(Publications,research,et.al.) : |
As this is a new area of our research activities, we need still to do a lot of more experimental trials before we can apply for a patent as we believe this can be a great achievements for treatment of cancer. |

4.Assessment of Value of Sabbatical leave(benefits,faculty development,future professional activities,...) : |
I could establish new collaboration where I hope we can define some joint projects for a PhD student and also try to have some collaborative activities in the future. Conclusion The current study shows that our new extract is quite effective in various cell lines and we can expect to be considered as a promising medicine for treatment of cancer cells. Other activities o Establishing new possible collaboration with other staff here at King’s College o Taking part in various scientific sessions Attending various lectures given by many invited lecturers or professors from King’s college or other universities. |
