Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : The 29th International Student Congress Of (bio)Medical Sciences – ISCOMS – is an annual congress which takes place at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands. The principal aim of the congress was to engage and attract students to (bio)medical research. This year, the congress took place from the 8th until the 10th of June 2022. The main focus of the congress was on physical participation to ensure that every student will be able to attend the congress. Approximately 800 students from all over the world came together, to actively participate in the congress. Out of these 800 students, 300 students presented their own research and results. The programme consisted of student presentations in plenary, oral, and poster sessions, as well as keynote lectures from renowned speakers, among them Nobel Prize laureate prof. Bruce Beutler MD. Furthermore, this year the keynote speakers included prof. Jeffrey Friedman MD PhD, prof. Karl Diesseroth MD PhD, prof. Roel Nusse PhD and prof. Hanneke Schuitemaker PhD. Additionally, participating in this keynote lectures, provided us the opportunity to learn from famous researcher’s experiences. The students also had the opportunity to observe a surgical operation, to attend a patient lecture and to participate in interactive workshops including laparoscopy, robotic surgery, and designing predictive models workshop. In this congress, I presented orally our abstract in the “Surgery and Transplantation” session and it was selected among out of 100 submitted abstracts for the session. The Prof. Robert Pol MD PhD as the session host, gave positive feedbacks regarding our research and all of the audiences admired the development of biomaterial and regenerative medicine in the Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the leader countries of regenerative medicine methods in the world. In conclusion, the 29th ISCOMS was a great opportunity to discuss about the leading research topics related to biomedicine, observe novel achievements in this field, and introduce the achievement and development of biomedicine researches in our country to participants from all over the world. Also, it was able to learn different skills in effective workshops during the congress programme.
