Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress : The conference was held in Riga, Latvia, between the 14th and 16th of September 2023 in the Rīga Stradiņš University. Dr Paula Vassallo was the president of EADPH and the co-president was from Stradins University (Dr. Ilze Maldupa). It focused on "Sustainability in Dentistry - a multifaceted approach". The sustainability of health systems has several dimensions, including funding, human resources, science and innovations, coordination and cooperation. Sustainable development seemed to have been put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic and the issues related to the management of the energy and climate crisis had not been prioritized during at least 2.5 years. Therefore, the theme of the congress was of great importance. To achieve this, they had invited some of the best and most experienced speakers from various disciplines (12 keynote lectures). Moreover 8 special interest workshop were also held by key note speakers as interactive sessions which were good place for scientific discussions and networking with international colleagues. I together with 4 other faculty members from TUMS and 4 of our PhD candidates presented their lectures in person. By providing a high-level, top-quality hybrid congress, some of our students from TUMS and a lot of other researchers participated online actively. Riga is a beautiful city with a rich culture, art and architecture.
