What were the responses to your talking points? Were specific questions or concerns raised? : |
They found our presentations interesting, idea provocative and asked some clarifying questions. I commented extensively in a subspecialty session on refractive surgery: usage of UBM for STS sizing as the Gold standard; necessity of the Bland-Altman and margins of agreement in the statistical analysis. I challenged the usage of regeneration for corneal stroma following femtosecond laser application. Healing, remodeling, scar formation, etc. are more suitable. |
If you met staff members, please list their full names & positions. : |
You mean of the senior Congress organizers? No. |
Please inform us if there are any follow up actions we need to talk with the members of the congress : |
Not needed. I myself talked to the American Academy of Ophthalmology representative (Dr Brennan ex-president of the AAo) and reinforced Iranian ophthalmology society in Asia. I cannot suggest a membership for TUMS. Iranian Society of Ophthalmology may need to approach the APAO proactively and seek organizational participation in this regional society.
However, this is controversial. We may need to define a regional one of our own. For instance, Central Asia of Academy of Ophthalmology/Persian Academy of Ophthalmology and lead a regional development in our neighborhood... |
Your experiences about the travel processes(Providing ticket, accommodation,...) : |
It was done by a travel agency. |
Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress: : |
Chinese and far and south Asia is just a different World. I understood that our ophthalmology practice is better standardized and found those of them somehow behind that of ours.
