Considering that this congress of EMOP 2021 was held with the participation of European parasitological associations and was the first of its kind during the Covid-19 pandemic, it had its own special appeal for me in terms of its organizing process as well as the number of participants physically and online. Climate change and the great impact of its consequences on certain parasitic infections were attractive points. Meanwhile, the negative effects of pandemic conditions were somewhat apparent in the international research process. On the other hand, based on my experiences from the scientific level and the ambition of Iranian students in performing research projects, it is clearly obvious that with careful planning and appropriate support, the country will witness scientific development in the field of parasitology on an international level. |

Your observations and outcomes : |
As a session organizer and invited speaker in EMOP 2021, I can cordially declare that the achievements of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in the field of Paleoparasitology were seen as significant. Introducing of ongoing projects in Iran in studying the ancient parasites received well attention from the pioneers. Since Iran is among the richest countries from the perspective of having archeological sites in providing the biological remains of the distant past, according to attended international scientists in EMOP 2021, paleoparasitology will gain valuable results in future Iran. The growing level of knowledge amongst Iranian young researchers is also a great supportive factor herein. |
