Program Description : The care of pediatric neurosurgery patients has advanced tremendously in a short period of time. In the early years of neurosurgery as a specialty, pediatric patients were cared for by the same neurosurgeons who treated adults. Nowadays, there are many specialized hospitals, all over the world, to treat different congenital and acquired neurosurgical problems in pediatric patients.
Children’s Medical Center (CMC), the oldest and most well-known pediatric medical center in Iran, was founded in 1958, and One decade later neurosurgical discipline started activities in this center. The national curriculum was introduced in 2013 for pediatric neurosurgery fellowship program in Children’s Medical Center. Moreover, a non-degree program as clinical attachment is offered for overseas students, interested in acquiring some experience in this center. During this course, the attendees could be able to observe and engage in hands-on clinical practice under supervision.
Program Duration : A supervised Clinical Attachment is a period of 3 months attachment in the pediatric neurosurgery department of Children's Medical Center.
