Please give a briefing of your own observations and outcomes of the congress : |
According to the conference reports, about 3900 participants had registered for the conference. It was an international conference and many people from other countries including UK, Canada, USA, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Japan, Taiwan, India, and Singapore have attended in the conference. Plenty of organizations were presented , just to name a few, these organizations were including such as BEME, ASPIRE.Professor David Gordon, President of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and a Dean X. Parmelee, Professor, Psychiatry & Pediatrics; Director of Educational Scholarship & Program Development, BSOM. The registration fee of the conference and pre-conference workshops was very high. It has had more difficulties because of currency problems and I had to paid The registration fee of congress about 100 million Rial by myself, Although it causes some difficulties for participants. Furthermore, some challenges in getting Schengen visa from European embassies in Iran can be mentioned. I highly recommend that the people who are interested in attending the conference which is held in European countries, should apply for the visa as soon as possible. AMEE conference are held annually with about 20 to 30 parallel sessions, including PhD report sessions, symposia, pre-conference workshops, plenaries, Mounted Poster Presentation, e-poster, and research papers, short communications, round table, etc. In this conference, I had two poster presentations about “effects of teaching critical thinking on medical students’ skills: results from a three-year longitudinal study” & “implementation of transition course to dissecting room: a step towards introducing of "Principles of professional behaviors and respect to cadavers” to fresh medical students”. If I would reflect on it, it seems clear that we need to interact with others in this filed. I attended the PhD sessions and Patil award sessions, all around the world, which researchers have presented their work in the best way. It gives me some new ideas to conduct some research in our university. In sum, In my opinion, I guess I would have to say there are a few clear benefits. But I would probably say that for the most part the one thing is really stands out is that this is an enormous international conference in the field of medical education and there are many opportunities to learn how to use the best knowledge of medical education into practice. But I think it is fair to say that there are some challenges in participating the amee conference. I believed that the most important difficulty would be that selecting appropriate sessions can be challenging specially without using Guidebook software. |
