The accreditation process begins with the self-assessment process. Self-assessment is the process of the examination of the institution’s current status according to the indicators that have been defined by the accreditation body. In self-assessment process, the institution tries to find out its weakness and strengths according to the indicators and prepares a report about its current status. This report will be sent to the accreditation body in order to help accreditation body in accreditation decision making.
In order to examine the credibility of this report, the accreditation body organizes a site-visit to the target institution and directly examines campus, facilities, equipment, the performance of the ongoing processes in the university and the educational activities.
