According to Public Relations Office of Vice Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs’ report, in this meeting that was held on 14th December, Dr. Nekoofar the Director of International Affairs, Accreditation and Ranking, Dr. Amanloo, Dr. Sadeqi and Dr. Shamshiri, the representatives of Office of Vice Chancellor for Management Development and Resource Planning, Student Affairs and Research affairs and Mr.Sayaddi, Ms. Azadi and Mr.Samadi, the international officers of Directorate of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking were all present.
The Director of International Affairs, Accreditation and Ranking in addition to reminding the attendees that a joint symposium for implementing international accreditation in selected universities of medical sciences will be held in Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Deputy for Education, added that chancellors and vice chancellors of different offices of Educational Affairs, Research Affairs, International Affairs, Student Affairs and Management Development and Resource Planning of 18 universities of medical sciences will be invited to attend this symposium.
Dr. Nekoofar also clarified that the experts of the Secretariat of International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Network (IQAAN) will explain how to implement international accreditation in universities of medical sciences in the country and speeches will be given about the concept of international accreditation, the necessity of accreditation, the role of accreditation in internationalization of universities, the most important forthcoming processes of performance and the accreditation indicators.
Introducing the flowchart of implementing international accreditation in 18 different phases in selected universities of medical sciences, Dr. Nekoofar expatiated that the first phase of the flowchart for holding this joint symposium is a briefing for implementing international accreditation in selected universities of medical sciences in Iran.
Finally, each of the five Directors of Tehran University of Medical Sciences were supposed to inspect their own field with regard to international accreditation indicators and demonstrate the most challenging ones in the mentioned symposium.
The attendees also agreed to hold this symposium in the form of workshops, in general and professional sections, and in the end they shared their views and recommendations.
