According to the public relations of Vice-chancellor for International Affairs, at the beginning of this meeting which was held on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017 in the council hall of the Vice chancellor’s Office, Dr Nekoufar, Director of International Relations, Accreditation, and Ranking presented an introduction on the changes and advances of the recent four years of ASIC and elaborated on the re-accreditation results of the university.
He added Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) has successfully renewed the international accreditation certificate by ASIC for another four years. This has been possible only through the attempts of every single members of educational, research, student, international, and management development team.
He then asked the team to present a prioritized list of accreditation indicators of each area, which are not currently followed for different reasons.
Dr. Nekoofar also propounded how the trend of accreditation of the university for the next four years should be continued, planned, and decided upon. The participants then expressed their ideas for this subject.
Dr. Mirzazadeh, the director of educational development center of the university and the representative of Educational Vice-chancellor Office for International Accreditation also emphasized on the importance of holding regular accreditation meetings every month or every two months and stated that with this solution, it will be possible to present regular annual reports to the chancellor of the university and further coordination in implementation of affairs.
He also regarded the suggestion of International Vice-chancellor Office related internal assessment across university and stated that this will greatly help in preparation of the university for re-evaluation by ASIC international institution.
The representative of Vice-chancellor of Research in International Accreditation stated that copyright is one of the most important indicators of research area, which emphasizes the importance of promoting culture of caring for author right’s law. Dr. Shamshiri considered essential the inclusivity of usage of posters related to author rights law across university as one of the important points of ASIC evaluation.
Dr. Amanlou, the representative of Vice-chancellor Office of Management Development and Resource Planning of the university, also considered attention to culture of quality across the university as important and emphasized development of awareness and sensitivity to this issue especially by the chancellor’s office of the university.
Furthermore, Dr. Sadeghi, the Student representative in International Accreditation, said that great attempts have been made by an extensive team across schools and student vice-chancellor office. He also added that greater attention should be paid to provision of the necessary infrastructures in dormitories.
Concluding this meeting, Dr. Nekoofar asked the representatives of each of the Vice-chancellor Offices to announce their four-year plan of accreditation and prioritize the indicators. He also mentioned the attempts of the vice-chancellor office for international affairs for evaluation of the university by other international institutions and receiving international accreditation certificate.
Stating that ASIC will host an international conference in Malaysia on 20th and 21st of September, Dr. Nekoofar expressed that the Vice-chancellor for International Affairs of the university is trying to coordinate participation of university representatives in accreditation in this conference. Dr. Nekoufar added that TUMS has been a candidate for receiving award of excellence in medical research by ASIC.
It should be noted that Dr. Nekoofar, Director of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking, Dr. Mirzazadeh, Dr. Sadeghi, Dr. Shamshiri, Dr. Amanlou, representatives of Educational, Research and Technology, Student, Management Development and Resource Planning of the university in international accreditation, Mr. Sayadi, Ms. Azadi and Javedanfard, the experts of Vice-chancellor Office for International Affairs were present in this meeting.
