Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) participated at the international conference of ASIC on September 20th and 21st, following year in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Useful lectures were given by lecturers in the conference with different topics of higher education, international student recruitment, quality assurance and promotion of higher education, international marketing, and cooperation of agents in different countries.
Dr. Nekoofar, Director of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking of TUMS also delivered a lecture titled "Internationalization of Higher Education, TUMS Experience” to introduce the University's recent activities, including the International Quality Assurance and Accreditation Network (IQAAN) structure, as a unique model to do quality measures throughout the university. While he offered fundamental suggestions in the method of accreditation, he demanded the improvement of the ASIC international indicators, and presented the IQAAN experience at TUMS as an adaptable model for other universities in the world that began international accreditation. His influential speech was welcomed by many universities which were present.

On the sidelines of this gathering, table of TUMS hosted representatives from different universities, and the university team seized the opportunity to exchange information and examine the fields of cooperation.
TUMS has also been honored due to its educational, research and international activities in recent years by ASIC and received the “Outstanding Contribution Award” for international education. Following the conference, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Nekoofar, was honored among a number of academic directors and researchers to take “Outstanding Leadership Award” in international medical research and development.
In the final day of conference, the TUMS representatives visited Limkokwing University, in Malaysia that has received the Premier accreditation from ASIC.It is worth mentioning that TUMS has also received accreditation certificate with premium status from ASIC in 2017.
It is to say that representatives from office of vice chancellors’ for education, Dr. Roghayeh Gandomkar, International affairs, Sepideh Javedanfard, Research, Dr. Maryam Sabery Namin, Management Development and Resource Planning, Bahareh Kashian, and students’ affairs, Dr. Ahmadreza Sadeghi participated in this conference.
